The Bhoyar Pawar caste, associated with the regions of Betul, Wardha, and Chhindwada, is a branch of the Dhar Parmara dynasty, known today as Pawar, Panwar, or Bhoyar Pawar¹. They are considered to be one of the four Agnikul or fire-born castes, they are descent from the ancient Parmar rulers. The community primarily speaks Bhoyari or Pawari, a dialect reflecting their historical ties to the Malwa region¹. The Pawars have a significant presence in Central India, particularly in the aforementioned regions, with a population of around 2 lakhs across 72 Gotras¹. They regard Emperor Vikramaditya of Ujjayini and Raja Bhoj of Dharanagar as prominent ancestors, and Maa Gadkalika as their Kuldevi¹. The community has a rich cultural heritage, with traditions and folklore that reflect their Rajput Kshatriya lineage²³.
